Once your customers engage with your website, app, email or any interactive component of your marketing strategy something magical happens. You get certain results immediately, and many others over time. Its often unpredictable. Who’d have thought Craigslist would be so successful without any aesthetic treatment. Our approach is designed to establish a foundational solution. That could be a website, Facebook app, email template, iPhone app etc. What’s important is to have an engagement plan to get the most accurate customer feedback and measurement data as possible. Using that information, we plan iterations and changes over time. Not major changes, but subtle enhancements so we can be sure our plan is helping you achieve your business goals. This keeps the overall cost of ownership to a bare minimum.
User Experience Design
- Mental Model – The organizational framework to understand behavior, motivation, philosophy, and emotion experienced by the site framework
- Features Matrix – We assess all the potential features and functions using a scorecard to ensure only the most important components are included in the initial release. We also use this to select technical requirements, 3rd party software and technical design.
- Information Architecture - These are the blue prints for any user experience including wireframes, sitemaps, content inventory and prototypes. We don’t over design this step – often we use sketching, whiteboard drawings and paper prototypes to confirm
- User Interface Design - We define all the unique layouts required to support the user experience, design a framework for interactions and refine a high-fidelity prototype that simulates the look of the final product. This includes colors, imagery, illustration, brand integration and content.
- Content Development - If you don’t have resources to provide content we do the work for you. That includes defining the message style, product descriptions, company background, bios, blog entries, news articles, voice over scripts, slides for presentations, etc.
- Usability Testing - We use software and either recruit tester or partner with research firms to test websites, apps and emails. We are able to provide tasks, survey testers, simultaneously watch the cursor interactive in conjunction with video of the tester.
- Video/Animation – Video and animation is extremely useful in terms of gaining website traffic. When done correctly it can be extremely viral and build your search engine authority. The content can be viewed on YouTube, iTunes, Facebook and other social networks, it can added to blogs and webpages and is a great way to get closer to your audience. - PowerPoint/Presentations – Sound old-school but the fact is we all need slides. Public speaking is a key to spreading the word about your brand. The benefit is two-fold – a great way to generate content for marketing. There is a fine art to making great slides. Slides that work in live presentations, on your website using a service like SlideShare and that can be edited into video content remain crucial.
